Flashnet vs Relay for swaps

For swaps across chains. Checked October 27, 2026.

The short answer

Choose Flashnet if your wallet swaps into or out of Lightning or Zcash, wants a quoted price that holds for 2 minutes, or wants Bitcoin credited before confirmation.

Choose Relay if you want its published swap fees, exact-output quotes on more routes, its SDK and widget, or chains beyond Flashnet's.

How each works

Flashnet

Users send to the address on a quote, or to their own permanent address, and Flashnet settles on the destination network, filling from onchain liquidity and its own markets. It holds no user balances; its settlement workers run in AWS Nitro enclaves whose identity integrators can verify.

Relay

Users deposit into Relay's depository on the origin chain. A solver fills the order on the destination chain with its own capital and is repaid from the depository once Relay verifies the fill.

Any token by addressYesAny SPL or ERC-20 token by address, in or out, on Solana and EVM chains, routed through a stablecoin on its own chain.SourceYesTokens with solver or DEX liquidity on most chains; Bitcoin, Tron, TON and XRP take listed tokens only.Source
Same-chain swapsYesSuch as USDC into BONK on Solana, priced against Jupiter on Solana and DEX venues on EVM chains.SourceYesThrough the same quote API, by DEX meta-aggregation on the source chain.Source
Automatic refundsYesOrders that can't fill within the quote's bounds go back to the refund address you set.SourceYesRefunds go to the refundTo address on the origin chain, less gas. Without one, there's no automatic refund.Source

Questions

What does Relay charge for swaps?

Relay publishes its fees: 0.01% on stablecoin swaps, 0.06% on major-token swaps and 0.15% on others, plus gas, and nothing on same-token bridges. Flashnet sets its platform fee per partner and route and itemizes it on every quote. Both let you add your own fee to every swap.

Can Relay swap into or out of Lightning?

No. Lightning isn't among the chains in Relay's API. Flashnet swaps into and out of Lightning, including paying BOLT11 invoices, as well as native Bitcoin L1.

Are Relay swap quotes firm?

Relay re-prices a quote when it fills and protects the user with a minimum output; its docs state no window in which the price holds. A Flashnet quote's price holds for 2 minutes within your slippage, and fixed-output quotes commit to the amount out.
